John 1:9 (KJV)
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Encouragement for Today
Some days feel foggy. Your mind is full, your heart is tired, and you wonder where you can find steady ground. John 1:9 speaks right into that: Jesus is the true Light. Not a small lamp that sometimes goes out, but the Light who came into the world to give light to people. This means God is not far away. He comes close. He does not want you to walk around in the dark.
This Light is also honest. It shows what is going on in your life, but not to crush you. Instead, to help you. Light makes things visible so healing can begin. Where you feel shame, Jesus wants to bring grace. Where you feel stuck, He wants to give direction. Where you feel fear, He wants to give peace.
And notice the words: “every man.” Not only people who have everything together. Not only those who have believed for years. Also you, with your questions, your mistakes, your doubts. Jesus does not shut people out before they even come.
In the church:
- Someone remembers your name and makes you feel welcome
- A conversation where you can honestly say, “I am struggling”
- Prayer that lifts your hope again
In society:
- A helper who does not judge but builds you up
- A friend who stays, even when you do not know what to do
- A neighbor who offers practical support in a hard week
These are moments when Christ’s Light becomes visible through people.
Question to Pause and Reflect
Where do you need light: in your thoughts, your relationships, your choices, or your future? Will you tell Jesus about it today?
Closing Thought
The true Light has already come. You do not have to earn it, only receive it.
Take This With You
- Jesus is the true Light, also for your situation.
- Light is meant for healing, not for shame.
- You are not excluded: “every man” includes you too.
