Deuteronomy 32:3–4 (Contemporary English Version)
“I will tell about the Lord and praise Him. God is like a rock—He is perfect and fair.
Everything He does is right. He is a trustworthy God who does no wrong; He is fair and
honest.” –

Historical background
These words come from a song of Moses, spoken just before the people of Israël entered the promised land. They had come through a long journey: slavery in Egypt, deliverance, but also moments of doubt and disobedience. Moses knew new challenges were ahead. So he reminded them of something essential: who God is. In a time of political tension, questions about identity, and uncertainty about the future, Moses pointed them back to a solid truth—God is the Rock. That means He is steady, reliable, and unchanging.

What does this mean for you?
When you read this, it feels like an anchor. Because honestly, life can feel like a storm sometimes. Things don’t always go the way you hoped. In church, people can experience disappointment—through others or unmet expectations. In society, there is constant pressure, change, and uncertainty.

And right there, this passage says: God does not change. He remains just and faithful, even when you don’t fully understand what’s happening.

Examples from daily life
Think about someone going through a hard season—loss, illness, or job uncertainty. Everything feels unstable. Yet sometimes you notice a deep sense of peace in them. Not because life is easy, but because they trust in who God is.

Or think of a church community going through tension. Differences arise, relationships are tested. But when they return to the foundation—who God is—they find direction again.

Why this gives hope
What stands out is that God is not described as shifting or unpredictable. He is a Rock. That means you have something firm to stand on, even when everything around you is moving.

Final thought
“God is like a rock—He is perfect and fair.” – Deuteronomy 32:3–4 (CEV)

Maybe your life doesn’t feel stable right now. Maybe it feels like you’re losing your footing. But this truth remains: there is Someone who does not move. And when you hold on to Him, you find stability—even in the storm.
