Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world..”
Encouragement for today
These words of Jesus sound like a command, but they also carry something warm
within them. Jesus not only tells us what to do, He also tells us Who will go with us.
That is important, because let's be honest: it can be scary to make your faith visible.
In church, you sometimes think:
- others are better at this
- they know more
- they are better at talking
In society, you may feel pressure:
- at work
- at school
- or in your family faith is not always popular or is easily misunderstood.
Yet Jesus does not ask for perfect people, but for disciples who follow Him and bring
others along.
In church
Someone just walks in, barely knows the Bible, but learns step by step to pray, sing
along and choose forgiveness. Baptism and teaching then become not a “ritual” or
“information”, but a new way of life.
Outside the church
A believer who remains honest when cheating is easier, or someone who visits a
lonely neighbour without expecting anything in return, shows what it means to heed
Jesus' words.
A moment to reflect
Where do I keep my faith small out of fear or convenience, when Jesus invites
me to grow step by step?
Closing thought
The task is great, but the promise is greater: ‘I am with you alway.’ You are not alone.
Take this with you today
Start small and concrete. Pray for one person, show genuine attention, and don't be
afraid to simply tell them what Jesus means to you.
Learn one step of obedience each week: forgiving, serving, speaking the truth.
And when you doubt, return to His promise: He goes with you, every day.
