Everything was made by Him, including your life

John 1:3 (KJV)
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made..”

Encouragement: you are not a coincidence
There are days when you feel small: as if you just have to survive, as if your life makes
little difference.
John 1:3 counters this with a powerful truth: everything was made through the Word.
Nothing came into being by accident, apart from Him. That makes your existence not
just “something that happens by chance”, but part of God’s creative purpose.
This Word is not just an idea or a beautiful text. John speaks of God's power that
creates something new where there was nothing before. When God creates, He brings
order, direction and life. That is why there is hope, even when your situation feels
messy or difficult. The Creator is not exhausted. He is not limited to ‘the past’. He can
also renew now: in your thinking, in relationships, in the courage to continue.

In the church
You see this when someone gets stuck and yet picks themselves up step by step.
Through prayer, pastoral care and community, space is created again. It is as if God
speaks ‘light’ again into a dark part of life.
In society
Many people struggle with burnout, uncertainty and polarisation. This often involves
the idea of malleability: ‘if you try hard enough.’ John 1:3 corrects this: the deepest
source of life does not lie in your performance, but in God's creative Word. This gives
peace and dignity, even to those who cannot keep up with the rat race.

A moment to reflect
Where do I secretly believe that I am on my own, while God says that He is the
Creator and Sustainer?

Closing thought
John 1:3 encourages us: your life is not separated from God. He is the origin and can
reshape it.

Take this with you today
Choose one area in which you need restoration or growth (e.g. peace in your mind, a
relationship, your future).
Pray simply: ‘Lord, You made everything. Create in me what is missing.’

In addition, find one concrete step:

  • have an honest conversation,
  • ask for help,
  • or re-establish structure

God's Word gives hope, and you can move with it.
