A Light That Knows Your Name

John 1:6 (KJV)
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

Encouragement for Today

Sometimes it can feel like you are just “one among many,” as if your effort, your prayers, and your questions do not matter much. But this short verse says something strong: God sends people with purpose. John was not there by accident. He had a place, a task, and a calling, in the middle of a noisy world.

That is hope for you too. If God sent John, He also sees you. Maybe not with a big platform, but with a meaningful role: a listening ear, a strengthening word, an honest conversation, a faithful prayer.

In the church:

  • Someone who asks after the service, “How are you really doing?”
  • A volunteer who serves without applause
  • Someone who prays for those who have no words left

In society:

  • A coworker who lowers tension by staying calm
  • A neighbor who visits people who are lonely
  • A student who stands up for someone being left out

God often uses ordinary people to bring light and direction.

Question to Pause and Reflect

Where might God be “sending” you today?
Not far away, but close: in your family, at school, at work, in your street, or in your church.

Closing Thought

John 1:6 is small, but powerful: God works with intention. He does not write lives without purpose.

Take This With You

  • You are not where you are by accident.
  • A small act can carry great meaning.
  • Ask God: “Who may I encourage today?”
