When you wonder if your efforts really matter
Every day you invest yourself in the lives of others. You work, study, care for your family, or help someone who is struggling. Yet you may not always receive appreciation for what you do. Paul wrote these words to the Christians in Colossae. Many of them lived under difficult circumstances and had little freedom or recognition. Even so, Paul encouraged them to work with all their heart because they were ultimately serving Christ. That message is just as relevant today. In a world where achievement and success often seem most important, God looks beyond outward results. He sees a faithful heart and knows the love with which you live and work.

In the church, love grows when people serve one another, pray together, and encourage each other. In everyday society, God's love becomes visible when a parent raises children with patience, a colleague remains honest, a volunteer faithfully helps others, or a neighbor takes time for someone who is lonely. These simple acts show that love has the power to change lives.
