A strong foundation for your life

Ephesians 3:14–17 (Contemporary English Version)
"I kneel in prayer to the Father. All beings in heaven and on earth receive their life from him. God is wonderful and glorious. I pray that his Spirit will make you become strong followers and that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. Stand firm and be deeply rooted in his love."

When you long for a firm foundation

Everyone longs for peace, love, and security. Yet worries, disappointments, or uncertainty can shake your confidence. You may wonder where you can find something solid to hold on to. The Bible teaches that true strength does not begin with what you do, but with what grows in your heart. Just as a tree remains standing because its roots grow deep into the ground, you will find strength when your life is rooted in God's love.

A message that still gives hope today

Paul wrote this letter from prison to the Christians in Ephesus. Ephesus was a busy trading city where many religions, ideas, and influences came together. That is why Paul did not first pray for their circumstances to improve, but for inner strength. He knew that deep faith enables people to stand firm, even when life becomes difficult. That message is just as relevant today. In a world filled with uncertainty, pressure to succeed, and constant change, God's love provides a foundation that cannot be shaken.

God's love becomes visible through people

In the church, you see God's love when people pray together, visit one another, and carry each other's burdens. In everyday society, that same love is seen when a neighbor spends time with someone who is lonely, a volunteer helps without expecting anything in return, or a friend remains faithful during difficult times. In these simple ways, God reveals His love through ordinary people.

Final thought

Perhaps you feel tired or discouraged today. Know that God wants to strengthen you from within. When Christ lives in your heart, you receive a foundation that will remain, no matter what happens. His love gives peace, fresh courage, and hope for every new day.
