Stand Firm, Even When Life Shakes Around You!

Sometimes everything seems to be going well, until unexpected problems change your life. Illness, worries about your family, or disappointments can leave you feeling uncertain. You work hard, care for others, and try to do what is right. But what happens when the things you depend on fall away? A tree can withstand a storm when its roots grow deep. In the same way, your life needs a foundation that gives you lasting security.

Colossians 2:6–7 – Contemporary English Version (CEV)

You have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord. Now keep on following him. Plant your roots in Christ and let him be the foundation for your life. Be strong in your faith, just as you were taught. And be grateful.

Historical Background – Christ Is Enough

Paul wrote to Christians in Colossae, a city in Asia Minor, in what is now Turkey. The believers were confronted with religious teachings that emphasized special knowledge, rules, and spiritual experiences.

Paul reminded them that Jesus Christ is enough. The foundation of faith is not human achievements or religious regulations, but Christ and His saving work. Those who have received Him are called to live with Him every day.

A Faith That Becomes Visible

Perhaps you regularly attend church, pray, and listen to sermons. But what happens when you return home? Does Jesus also influence your words, choices, and the way you treat others?

Even within the church, disagreements and disappointments arise. People may hurt you, but Jesus remains faithful.

Just as a tree receives nourishment through its roots, your faith grows through prayer, reading the Bible, and trusting Christ. This becomes visible when you forgive someone, visit a lonely neighbor, or remain honest when lying would be easier.

You may stumble at times, but with Jesus, you can always begin again.

Final Thought – Build Your Life on Jesus!

Christian faith is more than a belief or a church tradition. It is a living relationship with Jesus Christ.

He died for our sins and rose from the dead. Through Him, people receive forgiveness, a new beginning, and eternal life.

You do not have to become perfect first. Come as you are, trust in His grace, and let Him lead your life.

What are you building your future on? Do you only know about Jesus from what others have told you, or have you truly received Him? Put your trust in Him today!

A Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your love and grace. Forgive my sins and renew my heart. Teach me not to rely on my own strength, but to remain deeply rooted in You. Strengthen my faith, give me courage during difficult times, and let my life reflect Your love. Amen.
