Hosea 2:21–22 (Contemporary English Version)
"I will promise that you will be my wife forever. I will be honest and faithful, and I will show you my love and mercy. I will be true to you, my wife, and you will know me as the Lord."
When you long for a love that lasts
Everyone longs for a love they can depend on. Yet many people experience disappointment. Relationships can fall apart, friendships can change, and trust can be broken. Perhaps you wonder if there is any love that will never fade away. The Bible gives a surprising answer. There is a love that does not depend on feelings or changing circumstances. It is a love that remains faithful forever.
A promise that has endured through the centuries
The prophet Hosea lived about eight centuries before the birth of Jesus. At that time, the people of Israël had turned away from God and chosen their own path. Yet God did not give up on them. Through Hosea's life, He revealed how deep His love truly is. Even when people were unfaithful, God remained faithful. He promised restoration, forgiveness, and a new beginning. That same message still brings hope today to those who feel guilty, lonely, or rejected.
Love made visible
God's love becomes visible when people refuse to give up on one another. You see it in the church when people pray together, forgive each other, and support one another through difficult times. You also see it in everyday life when a neighbor visits someone who is alone, a co-worker takes time for a friend who is grieving, or someone offers a helping hand without expecting anything in return. Small acts of love can change lives.
A love that never ends
Perhaps you feel that you have wandered far away or that no one truly understands you. Yet God invites you to come to Him. His love remains, His faithfulness never changes, and His grace always offers the opportunity for a new beginning.
