God has a place for you too
You are valuable
Perhaps you sometimes wonder whether your life really makes a difference. You do your best, yet you may feel unnoticed or uncertain. Then this story brings encouragement. In the long lists of names in the Bible, God shows that no one is unimportant to Him. He knows your name, your past, your worries, and your future. You are not just a number. You are loved and created by God with a unique place and a special purpose.
A message from history
This event took place during the time of King David. The priestly service was being organized for the temple that Solomon would later build. Nadab and Abihu had died, but God's work continued. Eleazar and Ithamar were given the responsibility of carrying on the priestly ministry. In this way, God shows that His plans do not stop because of sorrow, loss, or change. He continues to call people and gives each person a place in His Kingdom.
God still uses ordinary people today
God still works through ordinary people today. In the church, this happens when someone prays, visits the sick, teaches children, or encourages another person. In society, it is seen in a parent who lovingly cares for their family, a co-worker who remains honest, a neighbor who reaches out to someone who is lonely, or a volunteer who serves without expecting anything in return. These simple acts can make a great difference.
