Where can you find something to hold on to?
Life can sometimes feel like a story whose meaning you can no longer see. Changes, worries, and disappointments can leave you uncertain. Paul invites you to look at Christ. In Him, the world and your life find their origin, meaning, and purpose.
Paul explains that everything in heaven and on earth was created by Christ. He existed before anything else, and through Him everything is held together. Nothing escapes His attention. Your life is not a random or meaningless part of a greater whole.
Encouragement for a searching church
Around AD 60, Paul wrote to the Christians in Colossae, located in present-day Turkey. In this trading city, people with many different religions and ideas came together. Some teachers claimed that special knowledge and spiritual powers were needed to reach God. Paul directed the church back to Christ. He is not merely one of many possibilities; He stands above everything.
A faith that becomes visible
When Christ is at the centre, you learn to look at people differently. A church sees not only occupied seats but also the lonely visitor. An employer sees not a personnel number but a person with worries. A neighbour helps a newcomer understand the language. A church member continues listening when someone’s sorrow does not quickly pass.
Final thought
You may not understand everything happening in your life. Yet you are seen and known. Christ sustains creation and also wants to carry you. Will you entrust your uncertainty to Him? Who can you show today that their life is precious?
