Jonah 3:10 (Contemporary English Version)
"God saw that the people had stopped doing evil, and so He changed His mind and did not punish them as He had said He would."

God always gives a new chance

There is hope for your life

Perhaps you carry regret over choices you made in the past. Maybe you feel guilty or wonder if things can ever be made right again. Then the message of Jonah is meant to encourage you. God does not look only at your past—He looks at your heart. When you come to Him honestly, He is ready to forgive, restore, and give you a new beginning. His grace is greater than your failures, and His love never changes.

A message from history

God sent the prophet Jonah to Nineveh, the capital of the mighty Assyrian Empire. The city was known for violence, injustice, and oppression. No one expected its people to listen. Yet the king and the people took God's warning seriously. They turned away from their evil ways and sought Him. When God saw their sincere repentance, He showed them mercy and spared the city. In doing so, He revealed that His desire is to bring forgiveness, restoration, and new life.

Change is still possible today

People still make mistakes today. Relationships break down, families become divided, and disappointments arise even within churches. Yet lives continue to change when people put their trust in God again. Broken relationships are restored, people find freedom from addiction, and churches become places where love, prayer, and forgiveness are lived out. In society, people receive a fresh start when others refuse to give up on them and instead walk beside them with patience and compassion.

Final thought

Perhaps you think that your past determines your future. God says otherwise. Jesus Christ invites you to begin again today. In Him there is forgiveness, hope, and new life. "God saw that the people had stopped doing evil." Jonah 3:10 (Contemporary English Version).
