Yet the king and the people took God's warning seriously. They turned away from their evil ways and sought Him. When God saw their sincere repentance, He showed them mercy and spared the city. In doing so, He revealed that His desire is to bring forgiveness, restoration, and new life.
Change is still possible today
People still make mistakes today. Relationships break down, families become divided, and disappointments arise even within churches. Yet lives continue to change when people put their trust in God again. Broken relationships are restored, people find freedom from addiction, and churches become places where love, prayer, and forgiveness are lived out. In society, people receive a fresh start when others refuse to give up on them and instead walk beside them with patience and compassion.
