"But he did not put the children of the murderers to death. He obeyed what was written in the Law of Moses: 'Parents must not be put to death for the sins of their children, and children must not be put to death for the sins of their parents. Each person is responsible for his own sins."
Your past does not have to determine your future

King Amaziah ruled Judah at a time when revenge and self-interest often ruled people's hearts. Yet he chose to obey God's Law. He did not punish the children for the sins of their parents because God is just. Each person is responsible for his own life. In this way Amaziah showed that God's justice is different from human judgment. God desires honesty, mercy, and personal responsibility.

God Looks at Your Heart

Jesus came to reconcile people to God. He forgives, restores, and gives new life. Those who put their trust in Him no longer have to remain prisoners of the past but can live with hope, peace, and a new future. His love is greater than every mistake we have ever made.
