"Terah was the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran, and Haran was the father of Lot. Haran died in Ur of Babylonia, his homeland, while his father Terah was still living."
God continues to give hope, even after sorrow
Perhaps you have experienced a loss that changed your life. Maybe you carry sorrow, disappointment, or unanswered questions. Perhaps dreams have not come true, and the future seems uncertain. Yet the Bible shows that God is present even in life's most difficult moments. He sees your sorrow, knows your pain, and will never leave you alone. Where we sometimes see only an ending, God sees a new beginning. He knows your past, and He also sees the future He has prepared for you.
A Family Marked by Sorrow and a New Future
Genesis tells the story of Terah's family. Before God called Abram, this family experienced great loss. Haran died while his father was still alive. It brought grief, uncertainty, and an empty place within the family. Yet God's plan did not stop there. From this very family, God later called Abram to walk a life of faith. Through him, all nations would eventually be blessed.
This story reminds us that painful circumstances cannot stop God's plans. He is able to bring new life, new hope, and a new future even out of sorrow.
God is still at work today
Even today, people experience illness, loss, broken relationships, and uncertainty about the future. In the church, people support one another through prayer, love, and encouragement. In everyday life, many discover that after difficult years, a new beginning is still possible. God often works one step at a time. He gives strength for today, courage for tomorrow, and hope for the future.
Jesus brings lasting hope
Jesus came to bring people back to God. He knows sorrow, pain, and loss, and He understands what you are going through. Through His love we receive forgiveness, peace, and new life. Those who trust in Him discover that God's love never fails and that His hope does not depend on circumstances.

Genesis 11:27–28 reminds us that sorrow does not have the final word. God remains faithful, even when life does not turn out as you expected. He knows your story, sees your future, and wants to lead you one step at a time. Trust Him. With God there is always hope, always grace, and always a new beginning.
