Romans 10:13 – Contemporary English Version
“All who call out to the Lord will be saved.’”
When you can no longer see a way forward
Sometimes life becomes too difficult to carry alone. Perhaps you are struggling with guilt, loneliness, illness, or worries about tomorrow. You do not need to search for difficult words. A simple cry for help can become the beginning of a new path.
A promise for everyone
Paul wrote these words to the Christians in Rome around AD 57. Jews and people from other nations lived together in that church. Yet Paul made it clear that God’s salvation was not meant for only one group. No one is excluded because of their past. Everyone may call on the Lord and place their trust in Jesus Christ.
Calling on the Lord means admitting that you need Him. You come to Him with your mistakes, questions, and desires. Salvation is not a reward. It is a gift of grace for everyone who turns to Christ in faith.
Hope becomes visible
The church may give hands and feet to this invitation. This happens when a volunteer brings groceries to a family facing financial difficulties, a pastor listens to someone’s sorrow, or a church member continues visiting a neighbour. Such love shows that no one is unimportant.
Final thought
Perhaps you think your mistakes are too great or that you must first become a better person. Romans 10:13 says that you may come now. Pray simply: “Lord Jesus, I need You. Forgive me and show me the way.” Whoever calls on Him will not find a closed door, but grace, closeness, hope, and a new beginning.
