Psalm 105:12–15 – Contemporary English Version
“Don’t touch my chosen leaders or harm my prophets.”
When you feel small and alone
Perhaps you feel that no one sees you. You feel vulnerable or misunderstood. Psalm 105 tells us about a small group of people without a country of their own. They travelled through unfamiliar surroundings, but they were not forgotten.
Travelling, but protected
Psalm 105 looks back at Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They lived as foreigners in Canaan. They had no army. Yet the Lord watched over them. When people threatened them, He came to their defence and protected His promise.
The words “chosen leaders” and “prophets” refer here to people whom God had called to carry His plan forward. It was not their own strength, but His faithfulness that gave them safety and a future.
Coming home to Jesus
You, too, may feel unsafe inside. Perhaps you carry guilt, shame, or sorrow. Jesus came to bring people who are separated from God back home to Him. He carried our sins on the cross and rose from the dead. Through Him, you can receive forgiveness.
The church shows something of His love when it welcomes refugees, visits a neighbour, or supports a family in need. Yet only Jesus can take away your guilt, renew your heart, and reconcile you to God.
Final thought
You do not need to put your life in order first. Jesus invites you to come just as you are. Pray simply: “Lord Jesus, I need You. Forgive me and make my life new.” Those who trust Him are not promised an easy road, but they do receive His presence, forgiveness, and lasting hope.
